Click AAC: An Experimental AAC App for Android
Click AAC is an experimental Augmentative and Alternative Communication app developed by researchers from the School of Information Studies at McGill University, Canada. This free app is designed to assist people with speech disabilities in communicating through the use of pictographic symbols. Click AAC automatically generates vocabulary symbols related to the scene shown in the input photograph. Users can produce computer-generated speech by clicking on the symbols.
Click AAC offers three types of vocabulary options: Descriptive, Related, and Narrative. It is fully customizable, allowing users to remove undesired vocabulary items, edit, add new words and phrases, and reorder photos and vocabulary items. The app is highly flexible, as users can adjust the size of each component in the interface according to their needs.
